Alibaba and 1688 will show you ten thousand suppliers for any product. VIAQEX tells you which three are actually real, which one you should pay, and how to structure the order so a bad batch doesn't bankrupt your first year.
Most Indian importers lose money on their first China order the same way: they choose a supplier on price and response speed, wire a 30% deposit against a listing photo, and find out three weeks later that the factory in the photos isn't the factory making their goods. It isn't always fraud — more often it's a trading company subcontracting to a factory with no quality system, or a manufacturer who is genuine but has no experience packing for export and no idea what BIS or FSSAI compliance means.
Sourcing & Supplier Verification is the discipline that prevents that. We don't just find you a supplier — we build a shortlist of three to five verified manufacturers for your exact product, run background and factory-capability checks on each, and manage the sample-to-purchase-order process so the commercial terms are locked before you send a rupee.
A supplier check that stops at a business license photo is not verification — licenses are cheap to obtain and easy to forge convincingly enough for a first-time importer. Our verification covers four layers: legal existence (business registration cross-checked against China's National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System), manufacturing capability (is this a factory or a trading company reselling someone else's production — both can be fine, but you need to know which you're dealing with and price accordingly), production capacity (can they actually hit your MOQ and timeline against their existing order book), and trade history (export experience, prior shipments to India specifically, and whether they understand Indian labeling and documentation requirements).
Where it matters — electronics, machinery, anything with a meaningful order value — we go a step further with an on-site factory audit: production line walk-through, quality control process review, and photographic/video documentation you can keep on file.
A large share of Alibaba listings are trading companies (SOHO exporters) rather than factories. That isn't automatically a problem — a good trading company can consolidate multiple factories into one shipment and handle export paperwork you'd otherwise manage yourself. The problem is not knowing which one you're talking to, because it changes two things: your realistic minimum price (a trading company's margin sits on top of factory cost) and your recourse if something goes wrong (a factory owns the quality problem directly; a trading company has to go back to its own supplier). We tell you which one you're negotiating with before you negotiate.
A pre-production sample approved over a video call is not the same as the bulk order that ships eight weeks later. We manage the full sample cycle — specification sign-off, sample fee negotiation (and recovery against the first order, which most first-time importers don't know to ask for), and, for repeat or higher-value orders, a pre-shipment inspection against the approved sample and your written spec, not the factory's interpretation of it.
You share the product, target price, quality benchmark, and order volume. We map which Chinese manufacturing clusters actually specialise in it — the right city changes by category.
Three to five candidates, checked against business registration, trade history, and (where relevant) an on-site or video factory walk-through.
We manage spec sign-off, sample fees, and shipping, and flag any gap between the sample and your written requirement before it becomes a bulk-order problem.
Price, MOQ, lead time, and payment terms negotiated on your behalf, with the agreement documented in a purchase order both sides sign.
Once the PO is placed, this hands cleanly into freight and customs — or we monitor production and QC directly if you've engaged End-to-End Import Execution.
Sometimes, because we know the realistic factory-gate cost for the category and can tell when a quote is padded — but our real value isn't shaving 3% off unit price, it's making sure the supplier quoting that price can actually deliver against it without cutting quality or missing your ship date.
Common request. We run the same verification layers — legal, capability, capacity, trade history — on a supplier you've already found, typically within 3–5 working days.
No. Our fee is charged to you, disclosed upfront, and shown as a separate line item from the supplier's price — so there's no incentive for us to steer you toward whoever pays us the most.
It depends heavily on category — textiles and simple hardgoods can start in the low hundreds of units, electronics and anything requiring tooling often needs a few thousand. We'll give you a category-accurate number during scoping rather than a generic one.
A 30-minute call is usually enough for us to tell you exactly what this will cost and how long it will take.
